The Magical Zero

This is the old Hasegawa A6M2 Zero in 1/72 scale. The only difference in the following digital photographs is the way in which the subject was lighted. Some were taken with flash, some without. Can you guess which is which?

  1. Haha.

On a side note, I have noticed that Hasegawa (at least the Thunderbolt and one of their Mustangs) seem to be a larger scale 1/72 than my Airfix and Revell 1/72s. Has anyone found this to be a common occurrence?

    1. It’s not exactly common, but some kits are “secretly” under or over scale. The Eduard 1/48 Bf-109G is actually a little closer to 1/46 scale. Maybe that one’s common knowledge… The old Revell “1/72” F-4B was about 1/76 scale. I think the old Revell P-47 is a little undersize. I was just doing an inventory of pilot figures. They are almost all undersized. Some of them are about four feet tall. They had shiny aluminum suits and strange oblong heads with large slanted eyes. Hey…wait a minute…
