Paints I Don’t Like — and Some I Do

Here’s a video where I try to make it clear which paints I consider “best” at this moment in time.

Revell, Golden So Flat and (to my eternal surprise) Vallejo have all been good, reliable, dependable paint. Hataka paint has some problems but we’ll see how it performs in my current project (painting an Eduard 1/72 Spitfire). AK 3rd Gen and Pro Acryl are too new and too “futuristic” for me to really say I understand them. All other paints have ended up on my “also ran” list. The big exception is Hataka Red Line, which I mixed with Hataka Blue Line to produce a paint that’s better than either the blue or the red. Call it the purple line. Just as in America, where we need more purple energy of people coming together and less blue and red lines squabbling and spilling paint all over each other… CAN’T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?
